Interfraternity Council

Hey everyone! We hope everyone had a pleasant and relaxing spring break!
Take some time to catch up on how things have been going for IFC as well as what is coming in the near future!

The ODU After Dark: Mardi Gras event last month was largely successful, there were over 450 students in attendance! The Skylark Band performed exceptionally eliciting some students to even break out in dance! Students lined up throughout the North Mall of Webb Center to get their photos taken for the photo snow globes and laser dog tags! This was a largely successful event for the Interfraternity Council and we appreciate all of the support from our individual chapters as well as the other councils!

Some color has been added to the walls of the Greek Office in the U-Center with the addition of IFC chapter and PHC chapter painted Greek letters! Each chapter painted their own set of wooden letters and they are attached to the walls of our office representing the 9 IFC chapters and 5 PHC chapters! MGC and NPHC letters soon to come! Come by and see them in Webb U-Center room 1061!

The all-Greek hockey game was at the Norfolk Scope Friday March 19th! It was great unity event for everyone to come out and show support! Thanks to everyone who stuck around for the all-Greek picture on the ice after the game!

There will be a Writing Seminar on April 8th at 7:00 in MGB 102 focused on writing for exams and how to prevent plagiarism.

There will also be a resume building workshop on April 7th at 7 in BAL 1012

Individual chapter reports are on the way!

MGC

Multicultural Greek Council

In 2007 the Multicultural Greek Council was started at Old Dominion University. This Greek Council was created to support the Multicultural Fraternities/Sororities that were on campus, and future Multicultural organizations that were to come.

Sigma Lambda Upsilon, Senoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Incorporated, Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated, and La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Incorporated founded the MGC. Together these three organizations worked together to form a well organized, structured Greek Council.

Since 2008 the council is being operated by two organizations due to the absence of Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated on the ODU campus. For the three years that MGC has been around many events have been planned and executed successfully. Some of these events include Socials with other Greek Council’s, Canned Food Drives, Fundraisers for Diabetes, Volunteering with Children, and social gatherings for students.

Even though this council only supports two Multicultural Greek Organizations, MGC hopes to expand on Old Dominion University’s Campus, in hopes to also support future Greeks as well.

Panhellenic LOVE!

After a relaxing and well needed Spring Break, PHC is getting back into the swing of things. We are excited for Greek Week March 22-28th. On April 3rd, We have our annual Easter Egg Hunt where we invite children from our local community for a huge easter egg hunt on Kauffman Mall. We are also very excited for our PHC sisterhood event on April 6th. All of our executive board and each chapter's delegates are going out to dinner then having a game night in Webb. We hope to get to know everyone better and increase our unity! PHC is proud to announce we will be sponsoring an ODU After Dark. It is Friday April 9th and it will have a Spring theme. We're going to have games, prizes, raffles, food and fun!We are also having a t-shirt designing contest for our After Dark and whoever wins will have their name and chapter affiliation on the back of the shirts!
